At the end of the day, the goals are simple: safety and security.

At the end of the day, the goals are simple: safety and security.

Securing your facility from external threats, intruders and uninvited people is the cornerstone to business continuity; that being said, it’s equally crucial to keep your facility safe from the INSIDE. There are places within the territory that are restricted due to their critical nature, there are rooms that cannot be accessed by all employees. When speaking about security the attention is usually focused on front doors and gates, whereas every inch of the territory is vital to the organization’s overall safety and that includes smoking areas, food halls and emergency exits. The question is: How do you secure your facility? There are several ways in which you can do so, including: Access Control Access control systems are Electronic forms of security that you can use to prevent unauthorized persons from gaining access to a specific area or privileged information, It can be in the form of passwords, key cards, a fingerprint or a voice sample. While this type of security functions a lot better than traditional systems, it also has its drawbacks; access control systems are hard to set up, pricey, demand high maintenance as well as being prone to hacking. Video surveillance Although video surveillance systems are an important component of the organization's overall security system, it’s still not enough. Being the most popular security system, it still falls short in the face of some questions. Traditional video surveillance does exactly what it says “surveillance” but does it prevent theft? Break in? Does it stop intruders? Does it identify intruders? Does it guarantee your facility’s safety? Another issue when it comes to video surveillance is that natural circumstances like rain and fog can easily stop it from doing its job. But sure rely on them if you like bringing in 100 workers to monitor the 100 surveillance cameras that you have. Security alarm A burglar alarm system is made up of several electrical parts that are connected to a building. Through sensors and contacts, they are able to detect movement and the opening of doors and windows, which triggers the release of a loud alarm to warn those nearby of the unauthorized entry. If you think this one sounds promising, let us tell you that it’s our least favorite security system, approximately 94-98 percent of all alarms are FALSE (the US community oriented policing services). A cat or a strong wind can move anything that triggers the alarm thus causing panic to those existing in the facility, and the repentance of these false alarms leads to a total ignoring of all alarms considering all of them as fake alarms. So unless you enjoy being alerted when a cat walks in or when the wind moves tree branches, we don’t recommend this type of security. AI based Intrusion detection system AI applications in the field of security are truly astonishing. AI/ LiDAR based security systems have image recognition that can alert you to the existence of people or vehicles, provide facial or even walk recognition across entire facilities and let you know if a stranger is on-site or an employee is somewhere they shouldn’t have access to. The AI based intrusion detection systems are precise, rapid and provide you with real time data on what’s going on in your facility. Moreover, these systems are fully automated with no need for human intervention or tons of guards monitoring them yet giving you the utmost level of control and flexibility and grants the highest level of security. In conclusion: Every organization is well aware of its needs when it comes to security and safety and every business’s needs are different so assessing and evaluating the security requirements of your workplace is the first step you’re going to take, then choose the most suitable option for your facility. At the end of the day safety lies at the heart of the prosperity of any organization.

From Garage Talks to A to a global AI Company: Our Startup Story

Just over a year and a half ago, my wife and I hosted an Iftar in our home in Dubai, as we do each year during Ramadan. It was on this night while catching up with some friends over coffee one of them started telling us about a specific technology his company makes that has been garnering international interest. This tech, he told us, is part of the “sensorization” of our world, advancing the concept of the Internet of Everything. My co-founder, a trusted friend and I, all passionate about technology’s potential to connect and protect people, were intrigued and listened with curiosity. In almost synchronized movement, we began discussing potential applications of the technology, the likes of which is not restricted to any single industry or practice. Because of our experiences growing up and working in the region and particularly, our familiarity with frequent commute, one particular use case – traffic safety – stood out to us. We began convening at my house weekly, drawing up ideas for hardware that could be equipped with this technology to help solve traffic safety challenges. I had, just a week earlier, registered my already existing IoT company as a consulting firm to leverage my M2M and IoT knowledge. After several meetings with my slowly forming team, I changed the company’s license from a consultancy to a trading license. Our first product blueprint was born within a matter of weeks. As our meetings and ideas matured, we laid the foundations for an IoT-ready business operating in the traffic safety and smart city space offering solutions boosted by artificial intelligence algorithms and other advanced technologies. A few hackathons and a lot of organic sales and marketing efforts later, we are proud to have achieved the following milestones: ---Built a makeshift IoT lab in October 2016 ---Private beta launch of our medium viable product December 2016 ---Hired CTO in January 2017 ---Signed an agreement with a western European IT firm March 2017 ---Accepted into the Dubai Future Accelerators August 2017 ---Signed MoU with Dubai Police November 2017 ---Expanded team to 8 in December 2017 ---Etisalat selects com-iot technologies AI solutions for crime protection. 2018 ---We were certified by METAS 2021 ---We were recognized as No1 AI company in the field of security and traffic. 2022 In the last 7 years, we’ve made inroads with a number of multinationals attracted by our agility and readiness to create to discuss partnerships for specific smart city projects. If you want to know more about us and our work, or if you’d like to meet us at our new space, give us a call.
